CSI Community Service
C.S.I. decided to spend Republic Day with the students of Adi Dravidar Primary School, Brahmapuram, Vellore. The board and core visited the school. Notebooks, pencils and chocolates were distributed to all the students of the school (around 120 in number). A technical session was held for the senior set of students, in which they were given a demonstration on and taught the basic operations of using a computer/laptop

Group Discussion
We have a roundup meeting once in every week. During these meetings, we may have some Group Discussion or Knowledge Sharing session. Only the core and board members will be taking part in it. The topics are chosen from different fields of science and technology

Fun-Tech Video Survey
We conducted a Fun-Tech Video Survey through the campus with a video camera on 22nd Jan 2010. We asked few interesting questions about technology, and other fields of science to the people. Also we asked the new core-members about their experiance with CSI

Associates 2009
A Regional level Symposium Associate 09 was held in VIT University, Vellore on 12th and 13th of December 2009. The theme of the event was “Next Generation Computing”. The inauguration function was felicitated with Dr.Bandaru Ramakrishna Rao, Director-School of Information Technology and Engineering. The CSI National Student Coordinator, Prof.H.R.Vishwakarma and the branch counsellor &Associate branch counsellor Mr.G.Jagadeesh, Mrs.Swarnalatha.The chief guest for Associate 09 is Mr.Waman S. Jawadekar.
IBM Technical Symposium
The IBM Symposium was conducted on 12th September, 2009 during the international knowledge carnival, gravitas’09. The aim of the session was to give an introduction to the audience about the IBM tools like DB2, Tivoli, Eclipse and so on. Also, the idea behind TGMC, IBM’s The Great Mind Challenge was given to the audience.

Windows 7 Launch Party
The Windows 7 Launch Party in VIT University, Vellore was held on 27th October 2009 in Gallery1, Technology Tower. The event was conducted by the Microsoft Student Partners in association with Computer Society of India, VIT Students branch, Vellore

Mozilla Workshop
The Mozilla Firefox event was held on 1st October 2009. The event was based on the Plug-in developments that are associated with the Firefox browser. The session was conducted by the Mozilla Campus representatives in association with CSI The Computer Society of India.

Google Desktop Gadget Development Workshop
The session dealt with the development of Google Desktop Gadgets and a preview on the new Google Wave. The event was open for all the students irrespective of the year. About 125 students attended it, few among them being the Chinese students.

Interesting snippets in C
The event was mainly targeted at the first years, who are stepping into the unfamiliar territory of programming .In all, 60 students took part in this event. Since most of the students in the first year are generally unaware of the basic concepts of programming, this event was targeted at those people to give a boost to their programming fundamentals.

Customizing Your Computer
Various interesting topics such as Easter Eggs, Snipping Tools, and Ready Boost were dealt which were received very well by the audience. An audience consisting of 120 people attended the event. There were a few second years as well as third year students too.
