AWARDS / HONOURS

  • Prof. M. A. Vijayalakshmi, Director, CBST was awarded “The Great Prize of SBCN” by the Society for Biochromatography and Nanoseparations, for her extensive contribution to the field of separation science.

  • Prof. M. A. Vijayalakshmi, Director, CBST was awarded the “Industrial Development award-CIM” in June 2010 by BIA Separations, Slovenia for her scientific contribution to CIM technology and Industrial development. The developmental work was done at CBST, VIT University, India.

  • The Society for Biochromatography and Nanoseparations (SBCN), started conferring “VIJI AWARD” to promising young researchers named after her in recognition of her contributions to the field of Bioseparation Technology.
  • Mr. Vignesh Narasimhan J., M.S. (by research) student won the Best Poster award (2010) in the International Symposium on “Gene to Vial concept for biotechnology based healthcare molecules” at VIT University, Vellore in February 2010.

  • Mr. R. Prasanna, PhD student won the "Hoffmann La Roche Younger Investigator award" for the best oral presentation during the International Symposium “Gene to Vial concept for biotechnology based healthcare molecules” at VIT University, Vellore in February 2010.

  • Mr. Palani Balraj, PhD student won the "Hoffmann La Roche Younger Investigator award" for the best poster presentation during the International Symposium “Gene to Vial concept for biotechnology based healthcare molecules” at VIT University, Vellore in February 2010.

  • Ms. Sushma K., PhD student was awarded the “Viji Award”, (instituted by Society for Biochromatography and Nanoseparations (SBCN) during the International Symposium “Gene to Vial concept for biotechnology based healthcare molecules” at VIT University, Vellore in February 2010.

  • Ms. Sushma K., PhD student was a recipient of the “INSA Award” – she was provided with a financial grant to present her work in the International Biotechnology Symposium (IBS 2010), conducted by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), in Italy, 14 - 18 Sep 2010.

  • Mr. Kamalanathan, PhD student was awarded first prize for an oral presentation by the Society for Biochromatography and Nanobiotechnology (SBCN), France, in the International Symposium on Biochromatography and Nanobiotechnologies 2007, 11-15 February 2007, held at VIT University. A trip to France to attend the SBCN 2008 symposium in France.

  • Mr. Kamalanathan, PhD student was awarded Hoffmann La Roche Young Investigator award for a poster presentation at 17th biennial International Society for Molecular Recognition 'Affinity 2007' conference held at New York University, NY, USA. 8th to 12th. July 2007 Mrs.

  • Ayesha Noor, PhD student was awarded first prize for a poster presentation in the International Symposium on Biochromatography and Nanobiotechnologies 2007, 11-15 February, 2007, held at VIT University.

  • Mrs. Ayesha Noor, PhD student was awarded second prize for a paper presentation in 'Winter Symposium 2007' conducted by Christian Medical College, Vellore. 11th to 13th. Jan 2007.

  • Prof. M.A. Vijayalakshmi along with Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) has initiated to establish a scientific society-Indian Society of Proteomics. This is a national structure linked to the famous international Organisation HuPO. She will serve as Vice-President in-charge of Education in Proteomics.
