VITEEE – 2018 – SYLLABUS Physics Chemistry Biology Mathematics English Number of Questions PCME (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English) - 120 questions (Each 40 questions) & English 5 questions = Total 125 questions PCBE (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) - 120 questions ( Each 40 questions) & English 5 questions = Total 125 questions No Negative marks for wrong answers All Questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) SELECTION OF VITEEE QUESTION PAPER Candidates are requested to give utmost attention during VITEEE Question paper selection (PCME / PCBE) PCME - Candidates appearing in PCME is eligible for all the B.Tech. Degree programmes as per the VITEEE ranking PCBE - Candidates appearing in PCBE is eligible only for 3 B.Tech. Bio-stream Degree programmes (Biotechnology, Biomedical and CSE with spec. in Bioinformatics) as per the VITEEE ranking Date of Exam : 04.04.2018 to 15.04.2018 Number of Sessions: 3 sessions per day Exam Timings: (IST) : I Session : 09.00 am to 11.30 am II Session : 12.30 pm to 03.00 pm III Session : 04.00 pm to 06.30 pm EQUATING METHODOLOGYEquating is a statistical process that is used to adjust scores on test forms (that are approximately equivalent) so that scores on the forms can be used interchangeably. Thus, equating is used to adjust scores of candidates who have taken different forms of a test, in order to facilitate meaningful and fair comparison for merit list and ranking of these candidates. The statistical procedure of Equipercentile Equating would be used by VIT to identify the percentile ranks for candidates, such that scores on different forms with the same percentile rank are considered to be equivalent. Thus, Percentile Rank is a unique and invariant position of the test taker in that group. A percentile Rank, say 90 Percentile Rank denotes that there are 90 percent of test takers scores below this score level and 10 percent above this test score. Candidates are advised not to make assumptions and predictions of their score or rank based on their own estimates of raw scores. GUIDELINES TO VITEEE – 2018 APPLICANTSOnline Application Forms : Cost of the Application : Rs.1150/- (inclusive of GST)Get ready with the following to submit the online form: Softcopy (scanned copy) of recently taken passport size colour photograph with 10kb - 200kb (Dimensions - 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) / Softcopy (scanned copy) of Signature of the Candidate with 10kb – 200kb (Dimensions - 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm ) in JPG / JPEG format. Selfie photos will not be accepted. Also scanned copy of Aadhar Card/proof of enrolment ID for Aadhar Card is to be submitted, at the time of counselling. Online mode(Net banking / Debit card / Credit card) - Do not send the hardcopy of the application form after the process of completion. The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC/ST & North Eastern State candidates. Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply. Part-Time PhD Admission under
“Visvesvaraya PhD scheme” | ||||||||
Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India has granted scholarships under the scheme titled “Visvesvaraya PhD scheme”. Under this scheme presently admissions are open to PhD Degree program on Part Time basis. Applications are invited from Indian nationals for admission to Part-Time PhD Program for the academic year 2018-2019 (December 2018 session), under the above scheme at Vellore Institute of Technology Chennai Campus.
This is a special scheme with following features: Part-time candidates who do not avail of any PhD Fellowship/ scholarship/ stipend from any Central or State Government shall be provided one time incentive of Rs 2,50,000/- on successful completion of the PhD degree. Currently, part-time students are not being provided any other financial assistance during the duration of their PhD work and this 2.5 lakh is awarded only when they complete their PhD

Delhi Boy Tops VITEEE for Admission to B.Tech Courses
Kalash Gupta, a student of, Delhi state has secured the first rank in the VIT Engineering Entrance
Examination (VITEEE)-2018 which was held from April 4
th to 16th in 124 selected cities across India, as
well as Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and Qatar. The entrance exam was held for admission to the various
B.Tech programmes offered by VIT at its Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal & Amaravati(AP).
Releasing the results here on Friday, VIT a record of 2,12,000 candidates had registered for the
VITEEE-2018. The other rank holders among the top 10 are 2nd rank: Sarikonda Ananda
Ramarao,Telangana state, 3rd rank: Anirudh Panigrahi, Odhisha state, 4th rank: Sai Anirudh M, Karnataka
state, 5th rank : Shubham Kar, Jharkhand state, 6
th rank : Shubham Agarwal, West Bengal state, 7th rank :
Pranav Goyal, Chandigarh state, 8th rank : Sanchit Agrawal, Delhi state, 9th rank : S Vishal, Tamil Nadu
state and 10th rank : Anmol Gupta, Uttar Pradesh.
VIT press release said that VITEEE results have been released through www.vit.ac.in and
admissions would be only on merit, based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the VITEEE.
Counselling for candidates, who obtained ranks upto 8,000 would be held on May 9
th
( Wednesday ) and counseling for ranks 8001 to 14,000 would be held on May 10
th ( Thursday ) while
for those who secured ranks from 14001 to 20000 will be held on May 11th ( Friday ). The counselling
would be held simultaneously in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati (AP).
Under the G V School Development Programme central and State board toppers would be given
100 percent fee waiver for all the four years. Candidates with ranks upto 50 would be given 75% tuition
fee waiver, Rank 51 to 100 would be given 50% tuition fee waiver and Rank 101 to 1000 would be given
25 % tuition fee waiver.
