Application Process

I. After submission of application, am I permitted to change my VITMEE Examination Paper and Examination City?
Requests for change of VITMEE Examination paper and the city after the submission of Application Form will not be considered.

2. Can I use one email address to fill multiple application forms?

3. How do I make the fee payment for VITMEE 2014 examination?
You can make the payment during the ONLINE application process by choosing one of the following options:
    a) Online Payment: Netbanking through the payment gateway / Credit / Debit Card.
    b) DD Mode.
4. If I want the Online Payment (Netbanking) option, how should I complete the application process?
filling all the fields in the ONLINE application form, choose "via Netbanking" option and proceed for payment by following the instructions.
  1. Your browser screen will re-directed to the bank you choose. Login with your internet banking credentials and confirm the payment.
  2. After confirming the payment, you will be re-directed back to VITMEE application website.
  3. At the end of this process, a PDF file will be generated with the following pages:
    i. Page 1: Application form with bottom part showing certificate to be signed by principal/HOD. One copy for the candidate and another to be sent to VIT University.
    ii. Page 2: Online Transaction slip
    iii. Page 3: Address slip (of where you need to send the hard copy) to be pasted on an A4 sized envelope
5. My netbanking account has been debited (money taken out) more than once. How do I get the money back ?

This can happen if your bank account was used more than once or you pressed refresh or back/forward button of your internet browser. Please check your bank account after 4 working days. Any unaccounted or excess money that was received on behalf of VITMEE 2014 from this account will automatically be returned back (credited) to the same bank account.

6. If I apply through DD Mode what should I do?

7. Do I have to send the printout of the application form?
 YES. At the end of the Application process a PDF file of the application is generated. You have to send the application in a A4 envelope addressed to Director, PG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore – 632 014.
8. Should I attest the photograph for application form?

NO. Photographs must not be attested application form or uploading. You must bring a valid photo ID card to the examination center.

9. When and how will I know the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application by logging in at the VIT Website after 15 days.

10. After completing the ONLINE application process and generating a PDF file, will I be able to change my application data?
NO. After completing all the steps upto PDF application form generation in ONLINE application process, you can only download the application form and cannot modify the data. Hence you need to be very careful while entering the data. You may also save a partially filled application and login in again at a later point in time to complete and submit the application. `There is no Edit Option.
11. I have missed to take a print of my ONLINE application at the end of my application process. How will I get access to it?
You can login using Login id and password you had set up and take a printout.
12. I have completed my B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering, but would like to appear for Physics paper in VITMEE-2014. Is it allowed?
Yes, it is allowed. As long as the candidate meets the basic eligibility criteria of VITMEE-2014 given in the brochure, he/she is free to appear in any VITMEE-2014 paper.
13. I have backlog(s) at the time of applying for VITMEE-2014. What do I do?
You can submit your application for VITMEE-2014, but make sure that before the commencement of classes you should submit the certificates. This is mandatory.
14. Is there any upper age limit for VITMEE-2014?
As long as the candidate satisfies the eligibility criteria mentioned in the brochure, there is no maximum age limit for VITMEE-2014.
15. I have filled the VITMEE-2014 application form, paid the fee but decided not to appear for VITMEE-2014. Can I get back the application fee?
No, application fee cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
16. I have filled the VITMEE-2014 application form, paid the fee and sent the application to the VIT University. What should I do now?
If you have done all these things, then you have to track the status of your application form by visiting the VIT website.

VITMEE 2014 Examination
1 . For how many VITMEE papers can I apply?
A candidate can apply for only ONE of the 18 papers listed in the VITMEE 2014 Brochure. The choice of the appropriate paper is the responsibility of the candidate. Some guidelines in this respect are suggested below.
    A. The candidate is expected to appear in a paper appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree.
    B. The candidate is, however, free to choose any paper according to his/her admission plan, keeping in mind the eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wishes to seek admission.
2. Will I be provided with any white paper for rough work and calculations during the test?
papers or a white paper notepad will be provided to the candidate for rough work. However, these papers/pads have to be returned after the examination.
3. Will I be provided with any white paper for rough work and calculations during the test?
NO. Candidates will NOT be allowed to leave the examination hall for any reason during the test. Candidates can leave the examination hall only after the closure of the test at the scheduled end of examination in a session.
4. What items are not permitted to be brought with me inside the examination hall?
Electronic diary, mobile phone and any such electronic or communication gadgets, printed matter, blank papers, clip boards and log-tables will not be allowed inside the examination hall.
5. Will there be any arrangement at the test center for the safe keeping of my personal items such as mobile phone?
 No such arrangements is possible at the test center, hence, you are advised not to bring these items with you to the examination venue.
6. Since the website mentions that the VITMEE-2014 examination will be computer based test, like some other online examinations do I get to see my score immediately? Does a question that appears on the screen depends upon the correctness of my answer to the previous question?
No. In VITMEE-2014 examination, as soon as the candidate logs in for the test at the test centre, a fixed set of questions belonging to that particular paper appear on the screen, either one after another or all together, depending upon the candidate’s wish. The candidate has to answer the questions (consisting of a combination of multiple choice type and numerical answer type questions) using the mouse and a numerical keypad. The candidate’s responses will be stored securely and will be evaluated at later stage. The results will only be known as per the schedule mentioned under Important Dates.
Admit Card
1. When will I receive my admit card?
Admit Card can only be downloaded from the www.vit.ac.in website after second week of May' 2014.
2. Is the Admit card alone sufficient to gain entry to the exam?
No. Bring the Admit Card at the test center along with at least one original (not photocopied/scanned copy) and valid (not expired) photo identification, whose details have been entered while filling the application. ONLY one of the following photo identifications is permitted: Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, College ID, Employee Identification Card. Photocopies of the identification document are not acceptable. Candidates will not be permitted to take the exam if the original and valid photo identification is not presented.
