Mathematical Meet - 2024
The Mathematical Meet 2024 - a national mathematical contest for school students, to commemorate the birth anniversary of prodigal mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan was held today.
Over 2600 students across 49 Schools from different parts of the country participated that focused on different facets of mathematics that include poster presentation, quiz competitions, model exhibition and talent search examinations. The theme for this year was "Mathematics in Climate Change".
Dr. V. Irai Anbu, IAS (Retd), the chief guest for the event made an outstanding speech and urged all the students to take up Maths seriously as an academia because of the presence of maths in all walks of life.
Mrs. Lakshmi A, Scientist & Dy Project Director of Chandrayaan - 3, URSC, ISRO, Bangalore and our illustrious alumni was the guest of honour.
Vice Presidents Mr. Sankar Viswanathan & Dr. G.V. Selvam along with Dr. V.S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran - Vice Chancellor, Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick - Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. T. Jayabarathi - Registrar, Dr. N. Arunai Nambi Raj - Dean, School of Advanced Sciences and other faculty members were present during this occasion.
